I just wanted to give you guys my results with a P4/DDR333 combo. At 166MHz @ CAS 2.5 the ram scored about 200 points less than RDRAM according to Sandra. Since my Gigabyte SIS645 motherboard will allow me to set the DDR at different speeds without altering any other spec, I boosted the RAM to 176MHz. At this speed, it only scored about 10 points less than RDRAM. Oh yea, I'm using Samsung PC2700. I know it was a hard decision deciding between DDR and RDRAM, so I thought I'd give you my results. I think I made the right decision. The ram was cheaper than RDRAM and the motherboard was a whole lot cheaper than most i850 based boards.

What kind of applications do you run on a day to day basis?

If you are just surfing the web, doing office work, and playing a game now and then I don't think you'll notice the difference.

I'm using Crucial CAS 2.5 PC2100 RAM o/c to 172MHz and I'm getting significantly faster benchmark scores than RDRAM. I get just slightly over 2600MB/s on the Int and Floating point scores. My system is a MSI 645 Ultra with a P4 1.6A o/c to 2208MHz. I think I score higher than you because my P4 is on a 552MHz FSB though. If you have a Northwood you might want to see how far you can overclock your 1.8GHz P4!

I've just got around to overclocking, and with just a 10MHz FSB overclock, I'm getting about 200 points higher.
