Saw this over at aces:

Apparently, a distributor, Tech Data, is selling boxed Pentium 4 CPUs to resellers for $900 and $1050. Those prices are for 1.4 GHz and 1.5 GHz chips, respectively

Like I said in OT:

Ohhhh.... bundled with 64MB of Non-ECC PC800 RAMBUST. Its like eating a dry, day old hamburger and biting into a used condom too.

Can you say OUCH, DOAH, and HOLY $HIT. I have been an Intel fan, but I must say AMD is looking so much more like the processor of my next system! YOU HERE THAT INTEL!!!

lol, i bet you could get a better price and more speed with a dual processor thunderbird system. Those boards should be out before the p4 is.

Don't forget that's the price the distributor is selling them for, the retailer will be a fair amount higher than that - for their profit margins.

Dual Mustangs for me🙂

JEEZ-US INTEL!!!

$1000+ for a 1.5ghz P4 that is questionably faster than a P3/TBird 1Ghz?

What is up with that? And it has to be paired with Rambus...that's gonna be pricey...

Damn...I know I'd feel like I was bending over a bed post for someone at intel if I bought that chip.

Ouch...

Why not just throw in an $800 NV20 (for the record I don't think it will be that much, but it fits my rant)
