- Intel: Pentium 4-1.8 GHz (Socket 478, Retail)
- case: Chieftec Server tower DX-01BLD,SPX-2
- 2*256MB PC2700 DDR crutial

PS: more info about the case can be found at http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=11-125-116

Got a few problems for putting everything together.

For one, I had problems putting all these LED cords on the motherboard. I assume the black is the ground as usual. If that's true, I am good so far.

The second problem came with a power cord named "H.D.D led". Doesn't take a brain to know this is the HD power for the led indicator. However the only two places left on the motherboard seem to be one that is for the MLED and the SMI. I have no idea what they are both. Which one should I connect to?

The third problem arise when I was supposed to setup the switches of DSW1. It is supposed to be setup based on how fast is my CPU and ram. I am not sure what to put. I am not even trying to overclock the CPU, but I am not even sure what config to use.

The fourth problem is the USB card. Why do I have a USB card in the first place? In my old motherboard, I didn't even have a card like for USB. Yet, both motherboards have USB connections. So why does the ASUS P4S533 need a USB card?

The final problem is a jumper problem: I would like to remove that beep (if there is a beep, when you start the computer). If that's possible, how can I do that?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Ok, sounds like you've got the parts assembled, that's a good start. :D Now for your questions, in order:

LED cords If an LED doesn't light up, flip its plug over; they only light up in one of the two possible orientations, that's just the way LED's are.

HDD LED Look in the manual, page 8 or Chapter 2.2, where there's a black-and-white diagram of the motherboard. In the bottom-right corner is a row of pins marked "Panel 1," and just above that is a lone two-pin header marked "IDELED1." That's where the HDD LED cord plugs in.

DIP Switches Like most Asus enthusiast-oriented boards, this one provides DIP switches if you want to mess around, but doesn't require you to do so. Just above the DIP block is a jumper marked JEN1, and leaving the cap on pins 2-3, as shown on page 24 of the manual, puts the board in Jumper-Free mode where the system will run the CPU at the stock speed and voltage without you having to mess with the DIP switches, which is a good place to start when building the system.

USB Card The USB card simply provides extra USB ports for you. Plug its ribbon cable into the USB card, and plug the other end into the header at the bottom of the motherboard that's marked "USB2" or "USB3" (refer to that black-and-white diagram on page 8 again if necessary).

Hope that helps out. Have fun with the new rig! :D

the beep is to tell you it's working...trust me YOU WANT IT!

As for the LEDs just follow the lables on the mobo. Each pin is labled. I don't have my HDD LED even connected. I left it hang and just connected the speaker, power button, and the reset button. That's all I need.

The USB card you refer to may be a USB header cable to add 2 extra USB ports to the system for a total of 4. Just guessing though. Use that if you need more than 2 USB ports
