Pentium 4 cracking RC5 slow

The boss just got a Dell Pentium 4 1.4 gHz but it only does 1.8 MKeys/s (RC5). He's running Win2K and I have the Win 95/98/NT client loaded. What can I do to speed him up? My Athlon 850@927 does almost 3 MKeys/s.

If you want to optimize your machine then go for SETI@Home with this one. I'm sure you can find someone ready to do RC5 for you on an Athlon/Duron while you're doing SETI for him on your P4. The 2 AnandTech teams will gain with a trade like this one. 😉
Just open a new thread to present the deal. 🙂

Yep, that'd be a great trade with a SETI person running a PIII/Celeron 650, an Athlon/Duron 550. 🙂 Their SETI output would probably double, and you'd have the same RC5 output! 😀

Did the client recognize it as a P4? A friend that I assimilated used the old client and it couldn't figure out what the CPU was, so it used a really sucky core! Make sure you have the most recent client.
