Pentium 4 cpu Temps

Currently my processor is a 2.4ghz(not overclocked) running at 33C idle with the stock heatsink, could you guys tell me if that is an ok temp?

I"ve got a 2.4B, runs at 47°C at idle, and 52° under load (eg, winxp installation).

....Then again, the higher temps are probably due to the fact I'm running 1x Maxtor 40/7200, 2x Maxtor 60/7200 in RAID1, RDRAM and a GF3 Ti500! 😛

That is definitely a good temparature. Of course, load temparatures are what you should be concerned with, not idle temparatures. See what your temparatures are like after about an hour of 3D gaming. As long as they don't rise about 50-60C, you should be fine.

Thank you guys for you comments. I was just wondering because I made a mistake and took of the pad on the bottom of the heatsink and put on some Arctic Silver instead. I used it on the Athlon and I worked fine, then I did some more reading to find that they prefer using thermal tape rather than thermal paste.
