Pentium 4 65nm / Cedar Mill Question

Just wondering if there is any info on the new 'Cedar Mill' Pentium 4 chips (65nm). I'm only interested in the single core (6x1 series). How do they compare with the current chips as far as heat and power output go? I can hardly find any info on the web.

Currently I have a P4 3.6 GHz (the original version with 1MB L2 - predating the 5xx series even), which I think is about 115W? The room that the PC is in gets very hot. I would like something cooler and more stable. How would the new Cedar Mill compare? How much power does it use?

Thanks all.

Newegg just got these Cedar Mill retails in yesterday morning..
I have a "651" (3.4 Ghz) on the way. I'll be running it at stock, with stock heatsink, in a mid-tower case. I could report back on temperatures when I have my setup, if anyone is curious

Hmm the figures aren't of much use unless there's a basis of comparison. Unless you can compare your figures with a previous version (such as a 650, or better yet, a 550), then they aren't much good.

check out Hardforum..
I believe there are a couple of users that got the CPUs from Tiger Direct when they first came out.. You might get better results on that forum, compared to around here..

The 6x1 series chips seem to be scarce here in Australia. The few places I've contacted in my city don't have them. There are online retailers selling them here, but I prefer to pick up my parts rather than pay hefty shipping fees. The chips also seem to be selling for alot more than the equivalent 6x0 (90nm) chip
