Pentium 4 630 CPU Upgrade Help Needed

can you only upgrade your cpu? or do you want to do a whole system upgrade...?

i wouldnt bother upgrading that cpu if i were you. i would get some quality DDR2 ram and a overclocking mobo and just OC that p4. i think they get up to 3.6Ghz...and ive seen 4Ghz using high-end air cooling and memory dividers.

if you are already running the 630 on that board, no real use upgrading as cost/performace ratio is not that great for the later chips. pretty much save the money until you can afford a move to pci express platform either a64 or wait till later and see how intels new core (conroe) chips work later this year

It says your mommaboard will support up to a 3.46 GHz 775 socket Pentium IV. While the CPU's with 1 MB of cache are beneficial, the extra money wanted for the 2 MB cached chips simply does not make the "worth it" factor.

Go into the bios and see if it will allow you to overclock the front side buss.
