That's extremely good for air.

So good that i'd like to see some screenies like everyone else...

this core is a Prescott, and i can get you the information to prove it... what do you guys want me to do to prove it? i'd like to brag a bit but i gotta do it the right way. :) and to check stability i ran some burn in crap that sandra has for a couple hours. i've ran the 32m digit pi thing and also ran doom 3 and other cpu/gpu-intensive games without the pc crashing... i'm kinda afraid to keep it at this so i leave it stock. i just wanted to see how high. here are the specs:

CPU Freq: 3808 MHz
Ratio: 14.0X
Ext Clock: 272 MHz
AGP/PCI: 75/38 MHz
VCore: 1.4625 V
DDRV: 2.95 V
AGPV: 1.60 V

what other apps are out there to test the stability??

Actually since it is HT I would say run 2 instances of prime95...however for some that is difficult to set up so run 1 instance of prime95 and then run the superpi 32mb at the same time...see how she does...

Sandras cpu burn is weak and not stressful enough for p4 chips with HT. Also games are not HT aware so they also do not stress the cpu enough. The key is to makesure it is solid under HT or under heavy cpu multtasking it could crash on you.

okay thank you for the tips guys. i'll let prime95 and superPi run overnight and we'll see how they do... in the mean time here is a screenshot that someone asked for :)

also....how do i use prime95 :? i found a Torture Test and benchmark option but in torture test i'm not sure what to select. need suggestions :)

Select torture test large FFT for maximum heat....superpi 32mb will not run that long.....your system if it had nothing else running would do it in 30 minutes or less so set the prime to higher priority so that the superpi takes a much longer time to complete...

I was really only looking to see if it made it for 30min to an hour....If you want to run overnight we need to find another app to run concurrent wit the prime95

Another thing you could do is run folding at home if you can....

i have used folding@home a couple times but i never really got into it. i'll considert that after i test this. i'll run a couple tests right now just to see how things end up. there will probably be errors because it seems that 2.8 @ 3.8 running PERFECTLY is a little unreasonable and almost unbelievable. anyways i'll run the tests and we'll see how things turn out! let you all know sometime tonight :) thank you for the help thus far!!

There is always that above average or rare chip...It could be stable...

Good luck I hope it is!!!

Well, I have been trying to run SuperPi (mod 1.4) and Prime95 both indepenantly and together. both will give errors both times. SuperPi gives the error "NOT EXACT IN ROUND" and Prime95 gives one error before passing 1 minute.

i guess its not "true" stable overclock... too bad ;)

My 2.6c will post @ 3.4, 270 fsb. Runs windows and such fine. But will not prime95 in any way. I say keep it! As long as you can 3dmark your all good;)

Well you are probably not that far off of what is stable...Heck 3.6-3.7ghz may be stable and that is still one great OC....

What vcore are you at now??? What do the temps look like???

yup..same here with my old PC. sometimes it doesn't post though, and that's with AI overclock 30%, i think it downclocked my memory. yeah, 3dmark really is all you need. that stresses the living crap out of your GPU and later on, your CPU.

I dont share those guys thought....I say get it stable at least for a few hours of prime and should never fail superpi by itself.....If it fails superpi then chances are you will have crashes in the system from time to time and I can imagine being able to loop 3dmark for hours without a crash.

DUVIE:

Here are the specs when at 3.8:

Clock: 272 MHz x 14.0
AGP/PCI: 75/38 MHz
VCore: 1.4875 V
DDRV: 3.00 V
AGPV: 1.6 V

Temps:
Idle: 43-46C
Load: 56C (that was with SuperPi and Prime95 running; fans turned up 100%, when i turn my fans down it goes to 58C or so)

representing 3.8GHz :)

That looks like the bios set vcore...What is actual???

Also idle at 43-46 with only a 10c swing under load?? I dont think represents your true load temp. That will only come with like 2 prime type apps running at least 1 hour.....56c aint bad though...

I would say drop the FSB to 265 for about 3.7ghz and try again with all the other stuff the same...

When you fail prime that fast it needs .05 to .075v more of vcore to be stable and I dont think you have that headroom. So the things will be to find the speed that will work with that vcore and then to test it tere to see true temp loads...
