I just picked up a ASUS CUSL2 socket 370 mobo and a P3.
Im thinking of going alpha cooler, what model or, what
do you think is best? I'll be doin a little OC, but not too much.
I want to avoid problems like the heatsink hitting the dim slot, ect.
Thanks

Heatsink hitting DIMM slots? Heh, no, the problem you may face with this board is heatsinks hitting capacitors, not DIMM slots.

I use the Alpha PAL35t which is pricey but very effective. The Golden Orb is a tight fit but a decent heatsink for mild OC. The Taisol heatsink for AMD socket A chips that Mikewarrior posted about looks like a winner too.

*IF* & I mean *IF* you can find one, get a HedgeHog.

Unbelievable fan/heatsink combo!

I just read someone is running >1GHz with default volt & HedgeHog on 700e.

GRRR . . . makes me want one (700e that is - I've got {2} HedgeHogs already!}!

I like my alpha pal, i have a celeron 466@700 with it so it does an incredible job in my book, I just can't wait to get my peltier in and see how much more i can get out of it.

Better heatsinks don't always let you overclock more. Each chip has it's limit.

LAYGO: He probably had a good cpu, other people have gotten that high with alphas too.

I would say either a globalwin (don't know any part numbers) or the alpha pal35t. Global win should be cheaper, bigger and louder, but cool about the same. Otherwise a golden orb isn't a terrible choice.

Another for the Alpha pal35t. I have one on my cusl2 and it works great!
