Pentium 3 733 (Coppermine) versus Celeron 800 (Coppermine)

I just recently acquired an older Pentium 3 system from a teacher at my school. The system had a Pentium 3 733Mhz (Coppermine), 64MB of 133 RAM, a DVD-RW, and a 30GB HDD.

Prior to receiving this unit I owned a Dell Dimension L800CXE which contains a Celeron 800Mhz (Coppermine) chip.

I am planning to move all my drives from the Celeron into the considerably roomier Pentium 3 case, but I am wondering if the Pentium 3 will perform better or worse than the Celeron 800.

Any ideas?

Also does anybody know of a good way to bypass a boot/bios password? Since this was once a school computer the BIOS is locked and I can't get in to work over all the settings. Currently I am trying the battery removal technique, but in case that fails does anyone have a better suggestion? It is an AwardBIOS.

Clearing CMOS will get rid of the bios password, thats done by either removing the battery or using the clear cmos jumpers (assuming u have them), as far as i know thats the only way u can get rid of the password.

Whats the cache like on the p3 and the celeron, i would think the p3 should be quicker due to its larger cache.

Pulling the battery should take care of the password...as for which is faster...not sure. I wasn't too big into the hardware scene back then.

I have gotten past the BIOS now and I am running a DBAN on the hdd. I just popped the battery out for an hour and all was we'll.

Now onto the speed. This board also has some overclocking options. Gonna see if I can push this to 866 or 900.
