hello

i am about to buy a 2.6C for overclocking, does anyone know if the retail fan and heatsink is ok to use? i am using an antec sonata cae with no mods. if not, can someone recommend a good/quiet fan?

thanks!

i'd say its ok, P4's run hott, but not as hott as amd stuff.

depends on how high you want to go as well.

I just set this cpu up last week and it is great I am using the stock heatsink and fan. I did take the stock pad off and lap the heatsink a bit and have AS2 on the cpu. I am now running it at 235 at stock voltage and it will go bunches more I am sure just going up about 5 to 10 a day and checking things out. Case temp is 33C and cpu is 48C at 3.06 setting I am at right now
