pentium one is socket 7 right? while amd k6-500 is supersocket 7... can a p1 133 cpu fit and work on a super socket 7... i heard some1 say this.. is this true? thanks...
As the others have said, yes it should fit and work fine. Socket-7 is Socket-7. There is no "supersocket 7" socket, although maybe some boards had Supersocket-7 as a name of some sort, since they were probably higher performing than traditional socket-7 boards (yet still used the same socket architecture).Originally posted by: alfietooch

the supersocket 7 mobos are just socket 7 mobos that have an AGP slot. (and maybe support 100mhz fsb?)

Yes.
Supersocket 7 has 100 MHz FSB and AGP, and is completely backwards compatible.

Pentiums came in socket 5 and socket 7.
Socket 5 was for the Pentium P54C, had 320 pins
Socket 7 was for the Pentium MMX, P55C, had 321 pins
K6-62s used Socket 7.
Before attempting to use a K62-500 in a Socket 7 board I'd check the voltages and multipliers.
