So you know in the show Frasier? He has a grand piano in his penthouse. Now I'm thinking I bet there are a few penthouses with grand pianos. How on earth do they get that huge heavy thing in there? Especially the furniture, fridge, washer and dryer? I'm thinking movers may take the emergency stairs for most stuff. But a grand piano? I wonder if it's sent up via crane through the window? Ever see that in cartoons where there's a crane lifting a grand piano to a building? That must be how's it done I can only imagine. I'd hate to see the bill to have that done!

I once lived in a renovated military off-base housing now used as public rentals and they designed the stairwells such that getting a queen sized mattress into the apartment was next to impossible. My guess was military personal wouldn't need anything bigger than a full-sized bed. The mattress was a struggle, but the box spring was impossible.

I'm betting as the captain said, freight elevator. Now, while I will not chastise you for asking such a question, I will lambaste you for stirring the sex pot by asking about something other than a question about Penthouse magazine. Seriously disappoint, here.

Seriously, using penthouse in title, nothing about the magazine, ban.

Anyways I would guess freight elevator, and possibly even taking the piano apart a bit to get it through the door

freight elevators and in buildings without them, they actually use a crane to lift the thing through a large window--or make a window/hole if none exists--to get it in the apartment.

But in Frasier, it's a set without a 4th wall, so I imagine the biggest challenge was to get it up ~8 steps into the studio and onto the set. I bet a hydraulic lift at the loading dock accomplished that for them...or they just rolled it off the truck and pushed it into Frasier's apartment.

Basically, you flip the piano on it’s side, take the legs off and Voila! Instant bite-size piano for a doorway. Here you can see the piano all wrapped up to protect the finish from possible bumps and bruises.

I'll save this thread by linking to a documentary about the creator of Penthouse. I thought it was a pretty decent documentary and the guy was way different than I'd have imagined. It was also on Netflix although not sure if it still is.

You're kidding me, right? I ask a simple question and right away I'm labeled stupid for asking it? Really? I've never lived in the city, moved from a suburb of Chicago when I was 10 months, though I have family that live there and been there on many occasions. Closet to any big city I lived was Riverside California That isn't anything close to LA.

It was a pretty ordinary day, I was lounging around the house in my teddy, when I heard the doorbell ring. I had forgotten that the dryer repair guy was supposed to show. I threw on a translucent dressing gown and answered the door. The dryer guy was a she and what a she she was. I think my nipples hardened so fast, she had to have noticed with the the shy, sly smile she gave me. The day was looking better already.

Did your question on its own warrant such a response? No. But your past posting history is what brought it on. Likewise to my response. You complain about others not being able to take criticism and being crybabies (hell half the time you even call for violence against them) but any time you get any you immediately cry worse than anyone while hurling 2nd grade level insults.

Too bad Filthy Gorgeous: The Bob Guccione Story isn't available elsewhere. I am really not interested in another data mining asshat site like f-ing Hulu a la Comcast
