have you ever owned any wider takumar primes, can you recommend any wider smc tak primes (less than 35mm), i have a m42 eos adapter with af confirm on the way , and want a high quality prime for landscapes

Pentaxian here as well. Relatively meager lens collection though.

Pentax K10D
Pentax *istDL

18-55 f/3.5-5.6 DA
50-200 f/4-5.6 DA
50 f/1.4 FA
35 f/2 FA

AF-540FGZ flash

Looking into getting the 21 f/3.2 DA Limited next for a wider prime.

But I can use and Pentax lens ever made, if Sony could run the old MD mount on their camera then they would have something.

I'm not too familiar with wide taks. But they all seem pretty darn expensive.

The 17mm F/4 fisheye has a really good reputation.

Check forum.manualfocus.org for some good M42 wide angle lenses. It's really a good resource for old lenses.

New K100D owner here :)

18-55 kit lens
50-200 f/4-5.6
50mm f/1.4

although if I may ask - i opened up my 50-200 and there was this crusted gunk on the lense surface about 1/2mm thick...ther was also some kind of woodchip material stuck in it.

Should i contact who I bought it from, or go straight to pentax? I haven't cleaned it mainly because I'm worried that stuff may be inside the lens. I only had a chance to open it last night before I went to bed, and that is when I discovered it
