Nice little camera and great for learning on.

Get a 50mm lens and you will be ready for some great photography

this is a K-mount camera right, and any "K-mount" lens (ie that i find on eb@y) will do?

Photography rocks.

Digital cameras are great and kick ass in a lot of ways, but there is something magic about working with film

I started into photography in the wrong way. I got a Nikon F50 which basically did everything for me. The photos were nice, but it was basically just a 'point and shoot' on steroids.

I got rid of this in favour of a Pentax K1000. A dinosaur of a camera that took great shots and forced me to developed some skills.

I'm now using a Pentax MZ-5n, which i absolutely love.

yeah, I'm just getting into film photography, I've had a digital camera since last summer (nikon coolpix 800) but I don't feel that I have the freedom with it (or the knowledge) to get truly great photos that I can see in my head but can never capture on (digital) film. I am taking a photography class at my school in the fall (Mount Allison University, Sackville, NB, Canada) to learn moer about photography.

:)

hehe another one who started it wrong.

at first, i really enjoyed taking pictures with my olympus stylus epic, point and shoot camera that i got at HS graduation. but i didn't really want to experiment in taking pictures, afraid of wasting film, and developing money.

then i got sony's dsc f505. very nice camera. took almost 4000 photos on it, which already returns my $1000 i invested in the camera. although it's a very nice camera, something still doesn't feel right..

which is why i have my nikon fe here. still struggling to use it, and since i can't get to see the results as fast as i did with the digital sony.. neverthless, it's a lot of fun!

I made the mistake of living in Thailand using only disposable cameras. When i returned i had taking 100s of photos and 90% were crap :(

I wish i had had my SLR back then

The Nikon FE is a pretty kickass camera

Best camera ever IMHO Cannon F-1 in 1973 it had a shutter speed of 1/2000 sec. Looks cool to stop a Top Fuel Rail,s spokes at 250MPH. It still takes the best pics. ever.

that's too bad damocles.

does anybody here know of a good AT-style photography message board?

I tried photo.net's forums, and although there seems to be a lot of experienced people there, the system is too slow. too much moderated, too many rules. I posted a question early today, and it's still not up in the forums after more than 12 hrs.
