Pentax K-mount lens recommendation?

I'm in love with my new pentax k2000, but think I could use a telephoto lens, plus some other lenses to play with.

The camera is k-mount compatible, but I wonder how focusing would work on an old school lens.. Can I use ANY k-mount lens (including cheapy vintage ones from the 70s) or does it need to be from a specific, digital friendly era?

As long as it works like the old school pentax, you can use any of the old lenses. Focusing is accomplished through the focus ring, just like old school. Pick up an M42-K mount adapter and go to town on the old M42 lenses. There are some REAL gems. I love my 50mm f/1.4 SMC Takumar. Metering is accomplished with the AE-L button on mine, and it also gives an EV value in the viewfinder.
