Pentafire possible?

I have 295x2 crossfire installed and a spare 290 or three sitting around. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but is it possible to put a 290 into the spare pcie slot on my mobo and go pentafire?

Probably not. But, you can always try. I have to think if it was possible, now that the CF bridge isn't required, someone would have done it and we would have heard about it. Best of luck to you and your power supply. 🙂

TBH I can't see much difference to 290 trifire so far apart from the fact that it's eerily quiet in here. I reapplied TIM to CPU today and reseated and adjusted bios (dropped volts) and I think I have just blown too much money that would have been better spent on Haswell E. On a plus note my EVGA PSU hasn't collapsed yet under the strain!

I believe the limit is 4 GPUs, so quintfire is likely not an option.

I doubt the driver will let them work together, but they will all work on stuff like compute loads.
