Pennsylvania Police Find Middle School Principal Naked, Watching Gay Porn In Office

When police entered the office of a junior high school principal in Bethleham, Pennsylvania, they found the 50-year-old educator naked and watching gay pornography, sources told The Morning Call.
Police intended to arrest Nitschmann Middle School Principal John Acerra for allegedly selling crystal methamphetamine. When they discovered him naked in his office, they found a glass drug pipe and $200 in marked money on the desk. A confidential informant wearing a wire arranged to buy meth from Acerra just minutes before, about 6 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
"This is all bizarre," Bethlehem schools Superintendent Joseph Lewis said Wednesday afternoon after a news conference at his office in the Bethlehem Area School District.
Lewis also said later he never heard concerns about Acerra regarding drugs or pornography.
"I've never received a complaint, "Lewis said, reports The Morning Call. "I've been superintendent for five years, and I've never gotten an e-mail, phone call or note."
A letter was sent to parents informing them of the arrest, and teachers had spoken with the 950 students at the school where Acerra had been principal since 2000, said Lewis.
"I am saddened and troubled by these events," Lewis said, reports The Morning Call. "I offer no explanation. There is none."
The AP reports that court documents state that police watched Acerra sell meth to a customer in a store parking lot last Thursday. They stopped the buyer, who told officers he had been to Acerra's home 10 to 15 times over the past three months, officials said.
Police then arranged for an informant to make several drug buys from Acerra over four days.
Police said that under normal circumstances, they would have made other controlled buys and tried to work their way up the drug network, but that they had to act immediately because of Acerra's job.
"We felt that it was important to take him down as quickly as possible," Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin said to the AP.
