Penn & Teller

just started watching their "Bullshit" show, it's great! Anyone have any background info on these guys? Seems they are a comedy/magic act in Vegas, but they've been working together for years.

the little guy doesnt talk...purely visual comedy from him (teller?)
the bigger guy has a charisma mod of +10...so their shows go off without a hitch.

Saw one of their shows awhile back, it was hilarious. Their earlier magic and stuff wasn't great, but I really think they've perfected their act. I have not seen the show you're talking about, but I agree they're pretty cool.

Teller is only a mute in the shows.

They've been doing their comedy anti-magic act a long time, look up "Penn Jillette" at IMDB.com They even appeared in the season 5 "day of the dead" episode of Babylon 5, written by Neil Gaiman.

The BS! series is great, especially the bottled water and feng shui episodes. It's on DVD now, definitely worth a netflix rental.

Teller on fear factor was crazy, he ate the hissing african cock roaches even though he didn't have to, he was muching on them like a potato chip.

And he had an underwater stunt, all he did was take off his sport coat and hop in the water, shoes and all.

Bullshit is an awesome show. I especially liked the one about doomsday cults. Gotta add that to my season passes for tivo.

When/what channel is it on?

I've seen Penn and Teller live three or four times. I love their material.

I've only seen them on TV, and from what I saw they're absolutely hilarious.

I saw David Copperfield live, but I think Penn&Teller are funnier, just because they have each other to feed off of.

BS! is a great show. P&T have always been a favorite of mine. They have some books out that are good to read. Sort of hard to find, but they do exist.

They've been doing magic/comedy together for close to 25 years if I'm not mistaken. I finally got to meet both of them in Vegas two years ago. And as pointed out, Teller does talk when not performing.

If you're in Vegas, check out their show. Great stuff.

ANOTHER INTERESTING FACT: Penn was the voice of Comedy Central for the first few years. He did all their promo voice-overs
