Raymond Teller needs to drop the pretense and just admit that his silence has been part of the act. That would be telling the truth, instead of lying. Oh, and he could start using his first name too.

i'm pretty sure it's widely understood his silence was part of the act. nobody thought he was mute, right?

ha, i have a friend that likes to pretend he's deaf so people will leave him alone - sign language and everything. i wish i could pull that off.

Wish in one hand, poop in the other. See which one fills up. Learn to sign, take a few acting classes, profit?

He doesn't have a first name anymore. His legal name is Teller.

This is common knowledge. There are plenty of interviews where Penn explains why Teller doesn't talk...

And why should he use his first name? Maybe we can force Penn to start using his last name while we are at it?

I didn't know people on the internet could be so stupid.

There's a short P&T documentary type thing where they go to Egypt, and they are watching some guy perform, with Teller sort of being an audience member part of the act. Teller explains afterwards that during the trick he thought he caught what the guy did, so when he was asked something like "where the ball was, or how many", Teller gave a different answer, trying to be nice to the guy. It turned out the guy tricked Teller so his "wrong" answer ended up right, somewhat embarassingly. Probably more amusing if you watched it.

a fat loud guy and someone's complaining about his mute sidekick being annoying?

so this a new show, not just 'bullshit' re-edited for discovery?

DVR is set, but I'm not sure it will have the same "impact" as Bullsh!t.

He has. Several times. In his early days, he found not talking on stage gave less ammo to hecklers. The act stuck. Teller is a mime. It works well for him.

Too bad I missed this last night. I'm a big fan of Bullshit and was sad to see it wrap up. Oh well, knowing Discovery, it will air 20 more times before the week is out.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the show, this is the first thing P&T have done that I have not enjoyed. It's like a bad Mythbusters rip-off and it's presented without any of the usual P&T style. Discovery has them on such a short leash that the show is incredibly generic, it's like Penn and Teller are not even involved other than Penn reading lines.

I don't really like the premise of the show, but I think the writing and their jokes are pretty solid. This second episode is a lot funnier than the first

Anyone else been watching consistently? The facts/lies aren't anything special but it's a fun/funny show.

And I'm bumping because I'm seeing P&T in Newark this afternoon. I wouldn't suppose anyone else is going?

I tried the first episode. None of the "jokes" were funny or even slightly amusing. Haven't watched it since.
