Pencil Trick

I just recently bought a Duron 800 and read that to unlock it all you have to do is connect the L1 dots(?) with pencil lead. Although I am no engineer this trick doesn't sound all that reliable. Is there a better way to unlock Durons, like sothering?

Go somewhere like a napa auto parts store and pick up a bottle of Loctite rear window defroster grid repair. It's conductive paint. You're right, the pencil is not reliable.
