Peltier's Peak performance?

hi to all,

I have some Senfu 15,4V 6A Peltiers. I first used them on my normal psu with 11-12V and they froze everything. As this isn't their highst Voltage i build my own which now puts out everything between 6V and 20V. But when i'm running the peltiers at 14-16V they don't even freeze water drops on their surface. My question: Is their top performance at 15-16V and only delta temp isn't max. or is delta temp an indicator for the max performance? greetings to all overclockers(especially Peltier Pioneers )

Take their wattage and divide by voltage or Ampers, and you will get your max specs. Delta temp max is the max difference between the 2 cheramic surfaces (hot/cold).

Peltier devices don't work best at maximum power, mainly because the increased heat production outweighs the enhanced heat pumping ability.

Depending on the application, an input power of between 40-80% of maximum is normally appropriate (this works out at approximately 10-13 V input).
