i have a P5W-DH and a c2d 6600.
I don't have any cooler. can somebody tell me a combination of peltier and cooler (water cooling or air) that will give my 6600 a good OC while not forming condensation,

budget, $100

cant be done on that budget. also, to be honest, you dont seem to appreciate just how much effort peltiers are. just stick to water, or spend more.

Peltiers are very inefficient. You might be able to get the CPU quite cold, but you will be removing a lot more heat than the processor itself is actually putting out - like maybe 100% more.

They sound great until you get into the practicalities of the thing.

And BTW, I'm not familiar with American prices, but I would be very surprised if you could get a peltier or water cooling for $100, let alone both.

Echo Katumba. I have played with a couple of Peliters, and the problem is, they consume a pretty good amount of energy, and in doing so. produce heat else where. Go water cooled.

Watercooled is pretty much the way to go but your not going to get much of setup for $100... I would plan on doubling that to get a decent setup, some of the TT setups are ~$120-$150USD but they take some work to work well and even at their best they don't work very well. In short you should really check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Alphacool.html alpacool makes good stuff and those prices will give you a more realistic idea of how much it will cost, keep in mind those are all in UK prices so you will have to convert them but those are good quality kits

I wouldn't buy a kit unless you want something that's overpriced and only better by a few degrees then the air coolers. Check out petras tech shop. The basic kit is like $150 or something and it's a pretty decent setup. It's all custom parts.

This is a pretty good performing water cooling kit. Can get it for $54.99 shipped from zipzoomfly.com but they are currently out of stock. Link

Best alternate is at Newegg for $59.99 + ~$7 shipping. Link

I'm willing to bet that a $40-50 heatpipe would cool much better.
