peltier cooling?

One of my roommates tried this for a class project. It works, but I think it takes something like 300 years to become economically feasible due to the high initial cost of the parts. They're pretty expensive.
 
well...i was thinking, pelt on the cpu core, watercooling on the other side of the pelt...i can get a 226w pelt for about 30 bucks...would it not even be worth it?
