Peltier and HS Problems

I have a 85 watt peltier kit that comes with a aluminum cold plate and foam surround. I have the peltier and cold plate connected to a Alpha FC-PAL35. The temp on the cold side of the peltier when running this setup rises to pretty hot temps. I am 100% sure that it is the cold side but I'm not sure whether the Peltier is too powerful or the HS isn't good enough to dispose of the heat. I aslo have a 250 watt power supply. If anyone out there has any idea about the high heat or has a setup related to this than please help me out. Thanks alot,

Uh that 85watt Peltier is about twice as much as the PAL35T can handle even with a Delta 38cfm fan...

I would try a 40-55watt peltier instead it might work with that wattage...

I have my p3 800 at 1088 at 2.05 VC and a 72w Peltier with a PA 6035 38 cfm delta and my tem's are 20 to 34 full load. take the heat sink and peltier with them together plug them into power suply and run it, feel the peltier with finger to see if it is cold it should be freezing.

holy $hit, RIP1234, you run at 2.05V? How long has the chip lasted at that voltage? I run a similar setup on my celeron, but i would be afraid to put the voltage that high.

I am running at about 142 F with the peltier and HS together. IF I take the Peltier and HS off it gets really cold and than slowly heats up. I have pretty much the same HS but mine has a Globle Win Fan on top not the good delta one. I think that the HS is not up to par when it comes to the 85 Watt peltier and that is what is making the Peltier heat up..

Yes, I think your guess is correct, Killjoy. Your heatsink can't cope with such a powerful heat source. Chances are it can't disapate heat in a linear scale, and as it gets hotter it can't deal with further increases as well. My 72W is about all my GlobalWin FOP32-1 can handle. Even at that, it only lowers my full-use temps by 10 degrees Celcius. With nothing running, it drops below zero...

IS there any recommendations for new HS/FAns that would work better with the peltier. I was looking into a PEP66 but I have a cusl2 and a very close Power supply so I'm not sure if it would fit.

get a water cool kit it will work well just put one on my freinds with a 85w peltier and his readings are 0 to 18 deg.c the kit was $125.
