and it hurts!! It's been in there since this morning when my contact ripped. I wore my glasses to school hoping it would come out sometime during the day, but its still in there. Any recommendations on how to get it out?

Pull your eyelid away from your eye and roll your eye to the side opposite where the piece is stuck, and flush it with contact solution or some other sort of eye drops. Don't try to flush it with water because it'll make the contact adhere to your eye. :p

After that doesn't work, see a doctor.

Had this happen to me at work once. Half my contect ripped and rolled back up into the top of my eyelid. Flushing it and fishing for it never worked.
Went to the emergency room. Doctor put some yellow gunk in my eye(so he could see the the contact) lifted my eyelid and fished it out with a tiny Qtip.

Not sure what you are waiting for, after 20 minutes of trying to get it out it was so irritating I said "fvck it" and went to the ER. I suggest ya do the same.

Would you rather see a doctor or risk damaging your eye?

That yellow stuff is AWESOME. If you blow your nose after they dye your eye, the snot is flourescent yellow. It rules.

Flush it out if you can even if it's tap water. You will have irritation even after its gone. Your epithelium (The top layers of cells on your cornea) has been scracthed. It will feel like it is still there. Try to close your eyes and get some sleep it will heal on it's own. An ointment for eyes might help with the iritation if you have one and cant sleep

got into a fight a few years back, ripped my contact into about 5 pieces but didnt damage my eye beyond the scratching caused by the chunks of contact lens rolling around in my eye.

but that yellow stuff was freaking amazing.

happened to me. i couldn't get it out. i tried everything everyone in this post had said, and after messing with it for a while it went under my eyelid. had to go to my eye doctor, she put that yellow stuff to stain the eye, found it, and she was able to get it out after about 15 minutes. she gave me some drops to make sure it didn't get infected. soooooo.... go to your eye doctor.

Depends on how comfortable he is digging around on his eyeball. After over 10 years of wearing contacts, I think I can touch my eyeball all day and not blink.

Depends on where it is as well.

it allows them to shine in a light, blue color, unsure what it actually is, maybe ultraviolet, and i believe they can then see the differences in reflection on your eyes, to see where it is scratched (i had mdf in my eye and one morning i couldnt even open my eye it hurt so bad)
