Thinking of adding a Iomega Peerless drive, to an old system that does not have a USB bus, as a backup drive. Question is, since I don?ft have USB, I?fll need to install either a USB or Firewire card. I notice the price of the USB cards range from $24 to $78, with this wide price range I figured that maybe there is something I don?ft know about USB. Need some advice. Also, would I be better off going with Firewire?

it depends. firewire is MUCH faster, but USB has more products and might be more useful in the long run.

You could purchase a USB2 card which will work with legacy USB devices. USB2 is as fast as firewire and you'll be ready for future USB2 devices.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know about USB2, the higher priced USB cards were(3Com) probably a USB2.
