pedometers - any recommendations??

The subject says it all. I have started running again (just brisk walking right now, but I plan to run in a few days). However, since I do this at work I don't have any idea as to the distance. Can anyone recommend a quality, digital pedometer??

Thanks.

Neo,

I thought of that as well. This is why I like the timex Ironman. It includes a GPS system so the distance should be accurate.

A ghetto approach is to just use mapping software like Microsoft streets. Plot your route then just time yourself and do the math. Only average speed is what you'll get but for running, that's all that matters really. Heart rate monitors are definitely worth the price alone; you should focus on your heart rate more than anything else.

vegetation,

Unfortunately, I am running indoors as well as outdoors so that method won't work (I think). I already have a heart rate monitor so I'm set there. The distance thing is just something I'm anal about. I log every detail (speed, distance, heart rate, calories burned, etc) and I track it. This helps me stay motivated.
