Peculiar BD-R Disc I got in my Optical Quantum Cakebox

Hello all,

I bought a spindle(cakebox) of BD-R 25GB Optical Quantum discs from NewEgg. I got the spindle pack of 25. They are all single-sided BD-R discs. I have been very pleased with the burn quality of these discs. Hardly ever a bad burn or coaster.

However, recently, I discovered in one of my 25-pack spindles, a BD-R disc with no branding on either side of the BD-R disc. And so I thought to myself, someone at the factory accidently included a BD-R DL disc. I get one for free.

Well, I tried backing up a movie to this "unique" disc(you can actually see through it) and the backup failed at about 75% due to a scratch near the outer edge. So, I thought okay, now I'll turn it over and see if ImgBurn recognizes it as a blank disc. Maybe it's double-sided. But it didn't work.

EDIT - Update: I held up the BD-R to the sunlight to look at the disc more closely. It's an LTH disc. It says so right on the inner edge of the disc. I have never and will never purchase an LTH BD-R disc. No wonder this thing didn't burn successfully. So instead of the company accidently including a BD-R DL disc I get the employee who includes a crappy LTH BD-R by mistake. Just my luck. I guess this explains the non-branding. Are all LTH BD-R discs transparent?

I've had some discs with a recordable layer at the bottom of the spindle, with a sticker saying "protect disc". I popped it in my burner, and it didn't recognize it, even though it seemed to have a recordable layer.
