I'm talking about the movie. Personally, I think it looks amazing. A great cast (Ben Afflick) seems to fit the role I think he plays fairly well. The CGI effects of the planes looks pretty incredible, too. I have a pretty strong feeling that the movie is mostly CGI, whereas older movies of Pearl (Tora! Tora! Tora!) were mockups and a few originals; and it showed. I'm looking forward to a movie on Pearl; I think one is long overdue. The only I have in my war movie chest is Tora! Tora! Tora! which, while a good movie, is grossly out of date.

Although I'm not sure if this will be like a documentary (a la 13 days), an action movie, or a war-story-turned-Hollywood (Enemy At the Gates). I'm hoping for either option A or B; like I told my friends that I saw EatG with, "Less sex more bombs." It's a shame when great war movie gets ruined by Hollywood trying to bring females in by creating a romance...

<< A great cast (Ben Afflick) >>

:Q

I, personally, couldn't care less about this movie. Jerry Bruckheimer is one of the few directors who can bore me with an action movie.

Now, Ted Demme on the other hand...I can't wait for Blow. :)

After the US made Japan surrender, they should've forced them to speak English, then I could understand Japanese import games.

Its a love story type flick like Titanic. The plane scenes are all real. I live in Hawaii and saw when they were filming the movie. They used those old school planes. My dad said he seen the planes and thought we were getting bombed. There was a accident too. One of the planes crashed while filming.

konichiwa: Jerry Bruckheimer is a PRODUCER. The DIRECTOR is Michael Bay who did Bad Boys, The Rock and Armageddon.

Ben Affleck can NOT act. This whole movie exists only so Bay could recreate the attack and blow a bunch of sh*t up. Big whoop.

Of course, I'm prolly gonna see it.

Producer, Director, as far as Jerry Bruckheimer goes, they're interchangable. Almost like Glen Ballard. :|

How is Tora, Tora, Tora out of date? I don't remember any new discovery of historic significance that would necessitate altering its script.

It would be out of date only to the shallow-minded effects junkies. We saw what happened when the gods of FX remade War Of The Worlds and Godzilla into the lemons Independance Day and "Godzilla".

BTW, I love watching Tora, Tora, Tora, The Battle Of Britain and Midway over and over again. A nice WW2 trilogy. :)

Pearl Harbor looks fantastic, I saw the preview yet again tonight while seeing Enemy at the Gates, awesome!
any hoo, the preview was right after some stupid movie about Indy cars loose on city streets or some crap, so it made Pearl Harbor look that much better this time.

This movie looks so amazing and I get chills down my spine any time I hear FDR say

"This day will live in infamy"

Ya, I love WWII history not because what happened (I'm Jewish) just because and this movie looks amazing.

What's wrong with blowing stuff up? :) I enjoy killing some brain cells every once in a while. And yes, I'm definately going to see it.

Ben Afleck was pretty good in Boiler Room, I thought. The previews for Pearl Harbor look good, although I'm wondering what the other hour and a half of the movie will be, after the attack scene ends. Hopefully it won't turn into another Saving Private Ryan, a couple short awesome action scenes with a whole lot of boring crap in-between.

Wow I hadn't even heard of this movie. Who says you can't learn anything in OT? They're dead wrong. :)
