Whole Wheat is not as bad as white bread.

Sugarcane is not as bad as white sugar.

Corn is not as bad as fructose corn syrup.

Dates are not as bad as dates syrup.

Yesterday, I had a 500mL mango smoothie I got from the market for about $2.7

Ingredients were mango, almond milk and flax seeds.

That was enough by itself as a full meal, yet I had this fried chicken and rice meal with pieces of carrot and raisins (only coz my regular and better rice chicken meal wasn't ready at my preferred restaurant). They were enough for me to not want any food for the next 10 hours. Then had watermelon and went to sleep. Woke up well rested. Miracle, yeah?

White sugar is just sugarcane juice filtered and dried to crystal.... I don't see how you don't understand that.

Mango smoothie is mostly sugar too lol. They even add sugar to the smoothie for crying out loud.

The smoothie was no sugar added. Otherwise, I would have tasted it. Anything with white sugar tastes awful and too sweet to me. The smoothie tasted just like a mango should.

About white sugar, I know it's filtered. And that filtered out stuff is the reason sugarcane is good but not the filtered white sugar. I bet sugarcane juice has some potent enzymes or other anti-oxidants in it. It becomes foamy when you juice it.

Same thing with pineapple juice. It is foamy and actually has a lot of fiber stuck to the sides of the glass if it is freshly juiced. That tells me that it's authentic.

Same with pomegranate juice too. Foamy at the top.

And watermelon juice too. The seeds getting crushed adds some of their goodness to the juice and makes it even more nutritious.

... How do you differentiate sucrose from mango vs sucrose from sugar through taste? You understand your sweet taste is less sensitive when the food item you are consuming is cold right? That is why cold drinks always have extra sugar.

You should go talk to a nutritionist. Your ideas are completely whacked.

You run water through a high speed blender it will have bubbles too, it just dissipates faster because it doesn't have other stuff in it to sustain the bubble.

And THIS is why everyone needs to be careful where they get their nutrition/health advice!

(I suggest sticking with DOCTORS/NUTRITIONISTS and proven information from CREDIBLE scientific sources)

Big time. :(

Sugar is sugar to the human body .... any "differences" are so miniscule as to not matter one iota.

Good bit about the cold desensitizing the taste buds to sweet taste.

I don't know how to explain it properly.

One way to do that is, I know how sweet cold Coke and Pepsi taste like. If anything tastes as sweet as that, it's too much sugar for me. Hence pomegranate juice can be too much for me. Same with Apple juice. Freshly squeezed orange juice isn't too bad. Grapefruit is excellent coz of naringin and spermidine. Watermelon is a potent blood flow booster and thirst quencher.

What comes with the sugar matters.

If you mix sugar and salty food together like in fast food, you are slowly killing yourself.

But if that same sugar is from a freshly squeezed fruit juice, it will have something accompanying that sugar to mitigate the harmful effects. That's Mother Nature looking out for us.

That's not to say, go and push your luck by downing a gallon of fresh juice. Everything in moderation.

Sigh, eating fruit is better than fruit juice because it slows down your absorption of the sugar, once you blend it, it's liquid sugar.

Most fruit juice sans the fiber contained IN THE FRUIT ITSELF isn't "healthy" at all.... that's pure 100% myth.

"Juicing" is just a waste of good healthy WHOLE fruit.

Grapefruit and watermelon juice in particular however are relatively low in sugar .... BUT most watermelon juice does NOT contain seeds at all sorry. (watermelon is about the easiest thing to juice ever!)

I'm done going back and forth ... SUPPORT the pure nonsense arguments CREDIBLY or stop posting them.

Look at my Demerara sugar nutrition fact. Per 4 gram, it has 4 gram of sugar. /shockedpicachu

Sugarcane juice tastes better than fine sugar dissoved in water because of the plant debris present in the sugarcane juice, that is all. This is why I use Demerara sugar for my coffee, because it tastes better. Not because it is 'healthier'

Maybe the term juicing needs clarification?

When I say juice, it means fresh juice from a blender, containing almost everything of the fruit, including the fibrous bits.

Then there's juicing using a juicer, where you squeeze all the juice out and throw away the fiber rich leftovers. <<< this is harmful.

... Did you not read what I said? Eating fruit is better than juicing because it requires more digestion to breakdown, thus slowing down the sugar absorbption rate. You blend it, and while the same compoments are present (mostly, some enzymes are destroyed by heat) since it is no longer a solid, it gets absorbed much faster and all at the same time.

That is why juicing is bad for you.

Agreed and I know that.

Doing that is BAD for a diabetic.

A healthy person doing that is not going to get Diabetes, unless he/she is being very reckless with their diet and consuming a lot of processed food/fried food and fatty animal food.

Sigh, it's bad for you no matter if you are diabetic. Fat is a lot healthier than sugar. Butter is a lot better than margarine, just don't overdo it.

I miss traditional pastries that have 40+% lard. Eating that once a year would not impact me much, but it would taste so much better than vegetable shortening.

<----- preordained for glaucoma and diabetes. Just a matter of when.

I stopped drinking fruit juices long ago. I don't order smoothies, I make my own, and almost exclusively in warm weather. Haven't made one in likely over a year.

You should watch it with your character assassination tendencies. I sense mental illness there.

Careful or I'll offer an honest assessment of you next! ;) Considering some of the "brilliant" insights you've posted over the years I'd suggest proceeding with caution.
