I'll check it out tomorrow. I refuse to belive peace is possible. Well maybe if we were wiped out. Perhaps "consciousness" = motivation, and that is the key to any war or peace among humans

site looks good so far.. Kinda bleak, still needs work.. but the content is all there. I like it, and i really like the message you are trying to get across. If i can come up with the free time i'd love to write something as a guest writer. I'll keep checking it out to see whats new.

<< I honestly believe that if intelligent Americans and Europeans and Middle Easterners and Asians and Africans et all get together "peace" really is possible within our life times. >>

i agree.. i believe its possible.. will it ever become a reality.. thats another question. People are so stuck in there own views and everybody thinks they are right.... it would take something major to achieve peace. Especially with all the conflict between Israel and Palestine right now. No amount of technology will resolve the religious and cultural differences between these people. Its a dispute that has gone on for thousands of years.. and even though i pray for peace everyday, i just dont see it becoming a reality just yet.

once again.. i like the page. good job so far. I'm really glad to see fellow college students trying to make a difference and show that there are actually some of us who care about what is going on in the world.

and on a side note.. why am i still up at 4:21 in the morning posting on ATOT instead of finishing my last paper of the semester like i should be.

Peace will only be possible when every nation is a democracy. I'm not some brainwashed anti-communist drone... you just have to look at history. Historically, a democratic nation has never declared war on another democratic nation. When the citizens themselves get a say in whether war should be instigated or not, they're more likely to vote against it... who wants to send their brothers/sisters, moms/dad, uncle, friend, to war and possibly death when there is no reason to?

The point that you made is excellent, but I dont think that it works once you consider how (popular) history is determined. Suppose there is a democratic country (#1) whose leaders want to go to war with another democratic country (#2) (for some reason or another). Country #1 will declare country #2 to be evil, impossible to understand and different (whatever this means in the context of country #1's culture) -- since country #1 is democratic this will include declaring country #2 to be undedmocratic. Country #2 will, of course do the same thing to #1. Now suppose they go to war and after a while, one of them wins. The country that wins will be able to determine the (popular) history of the country that lost. Since the winning country has already declared the losing country to be evil & undemocratic, and the winning country would much rather say "we beat this evil, undemocratic country" than "we beat this perfectly good democratic country", the losing country will go down in history as being a undemocratic, even if it was a democracy before the war.

nice..... though the site itself could use some redesigning.. like removing borders around frames and stop having them resizable ;)
