there is a program that does this, and specializes in doing this. I totally forgot what it is called, but I remember that it didn't work too tell.

you may be able to edit them with the full version of adobe acrobat

that is generally one of the reasons stuff is sent out in pdf format, to prevent people from changing it

if the person that sent it to you expected you to change it, they should provide you with the full version of Adobe Acrobat so that you can do that

yes you can go from PDF to Word. It takes a little work, but it can be done. Just get some freeware that lets you open postscript files, and then convert to text. I used to have a link to a webpage that describe the process in detail. Google "PDF conversion" or something like that.

:edit: MAYBE try Ghostgum, or Ghostsomething... can't remember.

I am sure 11 years later this information is useful.

11 years to the date. Coincidence?

It's not meant to. PDF's aren't created inside acrobat, they are converted from an original source. It's no different than computer programs. You can reverse engineer them but it's not meant to be done. Get the source and if the creator won't give it to you, there's probably a reason.

Acrobat XI Pro fully support conversion from PDF -> just about anything.
Acrobat X Pro support was not as good/complete.
