PDF and Acrobat reader Runtime Error

The app worked fine till friday, then when I would try to open a pdf, all I would get is a large blank "window" Now the app will not open. I uninstalled acrobat, reinstalled acrobat, stiill no luck.
I downloaded the same pdf files on another pc, and they work fine
I ran MS error checking and Norton antivirus

You can try running the SYSTEM FILE CHECKER.

Go to: START \ RUN
and type sfc /scannow

When it is done, reboot your PC.
(have your WinXP CD handy)
