pdanet with droid eris!

it works great. i'm using it now since my home connection is down for some reason. i don't mean to abuse this, since i know how the wireless companies are about their 3g networks. i'm only using it for gmail, atot, and the occasional wiki pages. do you think verizon will find out and charge me extra for this?

Not unless you somehow manage to use over 1GB of data in a day, no they aren't going to notice.

I'm sure if they really wanted to, they would be able to tell, but VZW being the largest (subscriber wise) wireless provider in the US, that would probably involve a lot of digging on their part and it probably isn't worth the hassle.

That's a sweet program, is there a root hack available for the Eris yet? I started tethering my G1 after root last week, I used PDA Net for a bit & was very impressed, but I didn't want to pay for it.

After the trial period, the free one still works but from then on it prevents access to secured sites.

i don't think so. it has a setting to share the connection over bluetooth tho, so you might be able to do it that way.
