PDA question

I've never had a PDA before. I'm wondering if it's posible to play games such as yahoo! crossword on one. Would you have to attach a keyboard or can you use the stylus?

Yes you can play games on PDAs. But, their screens are very small. First decide which PDA you want. Basically, they are either Palm based or Win CE based. They are not compatible. Once you know that, you can investigate what games are available.

You can buy detachable keyboards but most games play with the stylus and/or buttons on PDA. Again it will be game/PDA specific

Nowadays, most high end PDAs have nice bright color screens so they are easy to read. But they are not as fast nor do they have the type of storage that desktops do so a game rewritten to play on a PDA may be not as robust as it's desktop counterpart.

Could you use java applets in web browsers? I guess I'm looking for someone with a pda to try yahoo crosswords and see if it will work, and whether you need a keyboard or can use a stylus.

can u gimme a linkey to that yahoo thinggie, and i'll try and see what I can do there with my PDA

well, I seem to need java for those crosswords and I searched around a bit, but I cannot seem to find specific java runtime enviroment files for my PDA (a Dell axim X5) if anyone else knows how to get JRE installed pls lemme know.

yes, flash is possible, dunno the link by heart, but there is a flash for PPC, I also found java Runtime enviroments, go to the www.aximsite.com forums and do a search for java, a few posts down, tehre's jeode, which is commercial, and some old sun JRE, some others too, but i have no first hand experience with any of them.
