PDA or Laptop?

Hi guys,

I have a lot of contacts and I usually make all my phone calls from home... all my emails are on my work computer, so I currently take printouts or notes to help me when i call from home..

I basically need something which can easily synchronize all my emails and maybe even have internet access...

What would you guys suggest?

Thanks in advance

Find an used but in nice condition Powerbook Prismo with something like a 500mhz G3. That should be plenty of power for what you need to do and will still let you surf the net on a nice large screen. You could also hut for a used iBook. You can get a new 1ghz G4 iBook 12" for under $1000 with the edu discount now... I would think you could find a g3/900mhz for a decent price on ebay.

you sound like a guy on the move a lot. I would suggest a PDA with bluetooth. Simple to keep contact info. You can setup bluetooth to dial out of a cell phone to get email off POP3 servers, and light internet access -- all wireless. Laptop is okay, but you don't get the instant on/off that a PDA gets, and you risk dropping the thing on the go.

do you have a pc/mac at home? If so you can use something like gotomypc or pcanywhere or even windows built in remote desktop to synchronize files between the two. Cheaper then either a notebook or even a good pda. If not, how much are you willing to spend? Do you realy want internet acess? If internet acess is important then a laptop is much better then a pda (even with a vga screen pda's arent that great for internet use), if you realy just want acess to contacts then pda is fine.

Thanks ppl.. 🙂 I will check out go to mypc and pcanywhere for sure.. I am not too sure about Apple as i need Office/Outlook compatability... I am not on the move much.. just home and work.. but I make quite a few phone calls till late in the night and I need to have my emails to do that...
