Before I offend anyone, let me be very clear that I am COMPLETELY clueless about how to use a PDA, and im completely in the dark as to what they can do, or how well they do this. These questions might sound demanding, but its because I dont know what the pdas are capable of, and Im just asking if they can do such-and-such because I jsut dont know.

again, sorry for being clueless, please help me.

Hi, Im trying to figure out if I want to buy an ipaq, but considering that few stores let you really USE the PDA before you buy it (its not hooked up to anything, the staff are clueless, and often they have no power, much less network) I cant figure out of the damned thing will do what I need it to do.

I keep a to-do list in Outlook. (outlook calls these tasks). its like a check box thing that you make for yourself as you accomplish your tasks. I'd like to synch this list with an ipaq between my desktop machines at home and work, as well as on the ipaq itself. So that when I check something off at home, it syncs with my ipaq when I sync the ipaq, etc.

Is this possible?

I'd also like to have the ipaq ring or make noise when I have an appointment; and to also sync the appointments to the desktop machines; is this also possible?

Finally, with the email, Can a wireless enabled ipaq send the email directly, or does it have to sync with an outlook on a "real" pc? Will sent and recieved emails be updated correctly during the sync process?

If the Ipaq supports Outlook fully then i don't see why it wouldn't do ur taks list as well.. As for Wireless If you are hooked through a WAP to the internet then your PDA should be able to send mail by it self.
