PCX / PCI-Express

Has anyone seen any mobo companies offering (or say when they will offer ) boards with PCX (PCI-Express) for the video slot? I would like to start building a system but want to wait until the mobos come out.

I know ATI is trying to have it's PCX vid cards out in June ( http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=2018 ).

You will start seeing PCI-e around June/July

I think PCX is strictly nvidia term for their rebadged GPU's

PCI-X has been around for years and is completely different than PCI-E (express). PCI express is used in high end server boards (ie Tyan, and i thnk Intel etc). As to the Nvidia terms PCX is a PCI- Epress connection but is limited because they sticksomething on the bottom called a bridge...that way they dont have to build a new chipset to accommodate the a native or pure PCI-Express. (Other words PCI-E connection with a little bit of AGP interface).

I think you just got your terms screwed up here. PCI-X is on the high end server and workstation boards of Tyan, Intel, Supermicro, etc.

Sounds right, but I haven't been keeping up on Nvidia's latest marketing schemes.

He never mentioned PCI-X, he thought that PCX was the term used for the graphics cards that utilized PCI-Express. It is in nvidia's case, but not for the other graphics card companies.
