PCW: How can you afford to keep Spybot as freeware (with donations accepted)? Why is it important to you to do so?

Kolla: Not many people donate, but those who do give enough to keep up the operation. It's simply a very good feeling to help people without having money as the primary reason.

I work at/started a student help center at my college campus. 96% of what we do there is remove viruses and spyware. We use both spybot and ad-aware for adware, they are both neccecary....and both get run on every computer. One ALWAYS removes stuff the other doesnt.


a little info...
we have a running contest to see who can remove the most objects with ad-aware and currently its held by another tech who has a VERRIFIED 7667 objects removed(from some poor poor girls computer), beating my previous record of 1284 objects.
