I'm new to Anandtech's forums but I've been reading awhile, if anyone would be able to answer my questions it would be you guys, so if you feel like helping a poor guy out then please reply 🙂
I got an old NEC Versa E. I got it for a steal and now I'm looking to put Linux on it. There is no CD drive(it's a 486SX, weighs about 8 pounds already 🙂 ) so I thought Id use the ethernet card it came with, because im a clueless bastard i forgot to ask about a dongle when I got it, so now I'm up dongleless creek, which means i probably need a new card(the nic that came with it is the original Xircom OEM card/i'll never find one). While searching for info on PCMCIA i found some stuff about different revisions of the PCMCIA specification. Are these specs backwards-compatible? Im going to a comp expo next week and i might find a new card at a steal. Plese help a poor nerd.
thanks

P.S. anyone actually HAVE a dongle for this card? or know of a compatible dongle?
