PCMCIA Ethernet Card in Red Hat 7 for cable modem

I have a Compaq Presario Laptop with a PCMCIA Card with ethernet. I want to install Red Hat and get on the web with my cable modem. I've installed Red Hat before, but am curious if the PCMCIA card will automatically be recognized, and if not, where do I go to install it. I'm learning this stuff quick, so a straight up answer is all that is needed. Once I have the card recognized, where do I go to setup the internet connection?

kinda depends on the nic, if you want to see if it'll work, go to the hardware compatibility list on redhats web page.... U'll need the model number and stuff... more than "pcmcia nic"
