PCMCIA CDROM(Dell Latitude LT)

My laptop (a Dell Latitude LT) has PCMCIA CD-ROM drive. The computer will recognize it initially, but then will not either in DOS or Windows 98 SE. Because of this I cannot install drivers for it. Windows add/remove hardware program will not find it either. It does not show up in the device manager. Any help would be appreciated.

The card is a Plug'N Play card so Windows 98 should not have a problem detecting it.
Make sure that Windows 98 installed Card Services.

Goto Start \ Control Panel \ PCMCIA Card

You may also want to disable the IR port in the SYSTEM Utility if you do not use it.

I believe the card shows up as a SCSI device, not a PCMCIA.

You would not be able to access it in DOS without installing a DOS Real mode driver.
