PCIe v2.0 Compatibility Question

It will work just fine. The card will automatically adjust its transfer rate to 1.1 x8 rate of your board.

Edit: I have assembled a system for my friend that uses the same board and PNY 8800GS card. It works fine in x8 mode as indicated by CPU-Z. He does some gaming on this system and never complains.
