PCIe to PCI adapters

Does anyone know of a good (and relatively cheap) solution for using PCI cards in PCIe slots?
We have several PCI cards (DAQs, controllers etc) that we can't use on our newer computers since they only have one PCI slot (which is usually already in use). Note that these cards are quite expensive (they often cost more than the computer) so we don't want to replace them unless we really have to.

I know there are external expansion boxes but they seemed to be aimed at the server market and are generally quite expensive.

I have found one company

http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/pci-e-adapters-c185.html

that sells a relatively cheap exansion box, but the question is of course if it is too cheap (meaning the quality might not be very good).
They even sell an internal apapter, but I don't think we would be able to close the case if we tried to use that; adpater+card would be to big.

Does anyone have any experience with these or similar products?

Thanks

Sorry, I should have mentioned that replacing the motherboard is not an option (otherwise that would have been the best solution). Also, I should have mentioned that this is work-related.
We are not really allowed to change anything inside the computers; our IT department buys "standardized" workstations from Dell and in order for the service agreement to be valid (and various other reasons) we aren' really allowed to change anything; we are allowed to add/replace measurement hardware such as DAQs etc but that is about it.
Also, "expensive" is a relative term; even a solution that costs a few hundred pounds might still be worth it (less expensive than replacing the cards).

Did you contact your IT department people (or: Dell directly), to see if they could provide a multi-PCI slot machine?
If not, can you go with any other vendor? Couldn't you just "self-warranty" a custom box?

I'd say it's pretty obvious that your IT policies need to have an exception for PCs that have specialized communication needs. In most places, such PCs would be more under control of the Engineering folks than the IT folks.

DAQ makes specialty hardware/software that is used by scientist and engineers.
It specially designed and does Not sell in big quantities. Thus expensive.

The component that you are looking for are simple mainstream components.

If you ask me 199 Euro for a Box like the one in your link is Highway Robbery.

That said whether it works well with the DAQ cards might dependent on the type of the card.

Call DAQ point them to the Box in your link, and ask their advice.
