I am aware that there are a few cards (X800, 6800, 6600) that are sold in both AGP and PCIe configurations. What are the chances that mid-range PCIe cards, with newer technology than current mid-range AGP cards, will make the 180 to AGP?
 
maybe in the near future, some will

if we're talking 2006, 2007, maybe 2008, i highly doubt it

not only that, but that is if were talking nvidia

as you may know, ati is NOT releasing an AGP version of the X800 XL ($300 MSRP, though retailers are price gouging for $500)

you'll probably have to buy a high-end old gen card in the future if you want AGP
