I am upgrading to probably AMD 3200+, most likely on the MSI k8n neo4-f motherboard. The motherboard has only a pci-e slot. My budget is <$100 for a video card. The system will be used for basic computing, photo editing, perhaps watching/editing videos, no gaming.

I've been advised to get nvidia chipset since the motherboard is Nforce4 (perhaps has incompatabilities with ati). The 6200, and 6200tc are most commonly advertised. I've infrequently seen pcx5750, fx5750, and pcx 5300.

1. Which would be the best card for photo editing?
2. Would any of these be sufficient for video editing?

 
should be able to get at least a 6600 for that sort of money, but i'm not so sure as to you other questions, the latter ones really aren't worth getting as they are a generation (almost two) out of date.
 
For that kind of target application, you could even go with integrated video. Makes zero difference, and the $100 is then better invested into zippier hard disks and a faster CPU.
 
odn't spend the money on a gfx card. only if you do heavy video production and related things should you even consider getting a 5200 fx card. spend it on more ram and get a fast hard drive, thats really where the speed of your ocmputer is.
