PCIe card that will slightly exceed my Radeon 9500?

I'm jumping into PCIe soon and will need a new graphics card. Right now I've got a Radeon 9500 w/128 MB of RAM, and it's doing all right for me.

I'd like to keep my costs as reasonable as I can, and wondered if anyone could reccomend a good PCIe card that would be moderately better than what I've got now and not break the bank? Of course I'd love an X800 Pro but the bank can't afford it. I'm not wedded to ATI fwiw, nvidia's ok too. Thanks!

A GeForce 6600GT based card is the way to go. Newegg has the XFX 6600GT for $186 in stock. You would see a moderate performance gain in your gaming.
