pci-x -or- agp

I am about to upgrade to the below written rig, but upon discovering that there is soon to be a new via chipset available that will give amd pci-x support, I am wondering is it worth it to get the new mobo's with pci-x and a pci-x vid card or is it really better to stay with nf3 or k8t800 and an agp card?

PCI-X and PCIe ARE NOT the same thing. PCI-X cards are just 66MHz capable PCI cards, while PCIe (PCI Express) is the new standard format which future video cards will come out on.

Assuming u mean pci-e, there are a couple things u need to think about.
1) when is this ACTUALLY comming out? will it be delayed like much of computer hardware is or not?
2) how often is your upgrade cycle? I'd say ur good for another year and a half w/ agp cards. If you upgrade often, then dont worry about pci-e because you can make that decision in your next system build when its more manditory.
-if you dont upgrade often (not within a yr), and you are sure its comming out within your maximum waiting period, then u may want to consider the pci-e solution. Otherwise its just a premium that ud be paying.

I believe you meant PCI-e, not PCI-x. You said, and I quote "pci-x". That's incorrect, try again. The correct term is PCI-e.
