I got all my stuff settled in and everything and it looks to be much cheaper and easier if i just get a PCI wireless card and run that.
currently i'm using my linksys router, i dont kno which one it is, works with my vonage and silver. before i just ran a cat5 cable thru it from the router but now my router is in another room.
Would this affect my gaming much? its only going thru 1 wall and its physically 7 feet away, i have a laptop right now in the area where my computer will be and its reading exelent @48MBPS. Thats pretty much great isn't it ? since i have 7mb/s comcast cable. i should be running the same speed as a cabled connection right?
I'm bothered by my house phone since its running off a 2.4ghz network. Would it be smart just to upgrade to the 5.8ghz. I do have reason to upgrade due to the fact that the phone is pretty crappy to begin with.
Lastly, i need a recommendation for a decent wireless card. Something mid-range i guess. I saw a $50 linksys wireless pci card that i was going to get.
